Sweatbands and a post game pic
My best Bill story comes from when I was 11 years old. My dad got 2nd row seats for a Clippers game and my brothers and I asked Bill on his way to the locker room at halftime if we could have his jersey. He said “I’ll give you these (the wristbands and headband) if you want after the game, but I need them for the second half. We thought for sure he would forget, but nope…immediately after the game we saw Bill looking for us. He asked us to walk down to the floor where he introduced himself, gave us the gear and offered to take a picture. Back in the day there were no smart phones, and we did not bring a camera to the game, but for a kid to have that kind of proactive attention from an NBA star was special…I still remember all of it! Thank you Bill!
